Elizabeth Faidley

Revered as an “amazing and inspiring teacher” by The New York Times, violinist Elizabeth Faidley has carved a distinguished reputation as a beacon of excellence in violin pedagogy. In the New York City metropolitan area, Elizabeth commands a prestigious private studio where she imparts the artistry of violin performance to aspiring talents aged 4 to 22. Her students have graced illustrious venues including Carnegie Hall, Alice Tully Hall, the White House and many countries around the world, including the UK, Spain, France, Belgium, Austria, Italy, Germany, Hungary, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia.

Part of Ms. Faidley’s unique training for young artists includes special events for her studio, including private masterclasses with esteemed artists like Midori, Sarah Chang, Augustine Hadelich, Stefan Jackiw, Rachel Barton Pine, and Ray Chen. She also engages her students in special projects about Bach, Mozart, Kreisler, arranges for them to perform with orchestras, and takes them on international performance tours.

A true ambassador of musical education and musical equity, Elizabeth’s impact resonates on a global scale. Her passion for pedagogy extends to mentoring aspiring teachers worldwide, with over 2,400 educators and violinists from thirty-six countries, learning through workshops, symposiums, and mentorships. Ms. Faidley is currently mentoring fourteen violin teachers in her school, The Elizabeth Faidley Studio.

Renowned for her unwavering commitment to her students, colleagues, and the art of music, Elizabeth’s influence extends far beyond the concert stage. Before the age of 30, she was appointed to the faculty of the Hartt School, a testament to her profound dedication to violin pedagogy. Her tenure has also graced the halls of Montclair State University’s Cali School of Music and Hunter College’s School of Music as well. Ms. Faidley has been invited to be the keynote speaker, along with Nobel Laureates at the 2024 World Education Day in Jinan, China. Ms. Faidley has served on the faculty of the Summit Music Festival and the Heifetz International Music Institute and has been invited to teach and give master classes all over the world, including Italy, Germany, Spain, Russia, Norway, Amsterdam, and Africa.

In addition to her dynamic teaching and mentorship, Elizabeth channels her passion for education into the written word. Ms. Faidley also shares her passion for teaching through her writing. She has completed work on the second edition of a book for children titled Pre-Twinkling to the Stars: Your Joyful Journey Begins which focuses on a strong technical foundation for beginning violinists. Her second book, a theory workbook for beginning and intermediate violinists, is also available. She is currently immersed in the creation of two upcoming books. What Happened to the Nurture, which delves into her teaching philosophy, aiming to empower individuals in their entirety as the cornerstone of musical development. Additionally, she is wrapping up a foundational technique book slated for release in fall, 2024. When she’s not teaching, Ms. Faidley dons her Mom-ager hat, striving to keep up with her fourteen-year-old daughter, Aurelia, a budding concert cellist (an equal source of constant pride and chaos) She also loves writing and is working on the composition of a book of humorous novellas for a publishing house in NYC. She has also become an accidental college counselor and enjoys helping families navigate through the incredibly difficult process.
